Um dos mais tradicionais espetáculos ao livre do Ceará se prepara para voltar presencial: a Paixão de Cristo de Pacatuba. O espetáculo que em 2023 chega à sua 49ª edição já está em fase de produção. Os ensaios acontecem desde o mês de janeiro, sempre aos sábados, na Praça da Paixão, local da encenação do espetáculo, que será nos dias 06 e 07 de abril.
A 49ª Paixão de Cristo de Pacatuba conta com oito cenários: Palácio de Caifás, Palácio de Herodes, Palácio de Pilatos, Palácio da Última Ceia, Templo de Jerusalém, Flagelação de Jesus, Horto das Oliveiras e o Túmulo de Ressureição. Já o elenco, é formado, em sua maioria, por moradores. Somados a equipe de produção, direção, som e luz, são aproximadamente 300 pessoas envolvidas nesse espetáculo.
De acordo com as leis estaduais 15.846 (2015) e a 16.388 (2017), a Paixão de Cristo de Pacatuba é considerada um dos maiores eventos religiosos do Estado do Ceará e do Nordeste. O espetáculo proporciona entretenimento e trabalho aos pacatubanos também constitui-se como uma excelente opção no roteiro turístico para o período pascal, pois além do espetáculo, a natureza faz o seu show a parte principalmente para quem faz ecoturismo – Bica das Andréas, locais para voo livre, parapente, montanhismo e caminhada nas trilhas ecológicas.
