A I Feira Internacional de Cordel acontece entre os dias 25 e 27 de junho com programações educativas e musicais para celebrar e promover a cultura popular nordestina.
Em clima junino, a I Feira Internacional de Cordel será realizada nos dias 25, 26 e 27 de junho no Parque de eventos Narciso Pessoa de Araújo, em Maracanaú. Integrante da programação do São João de Maracanaú, o evento artístico-cultural contemplará as diversas linguagens da cultura regional, como o cordel, a cantoria, a declamação, as emboladas, a música regional e os aboios.
A Feira terá três dias de atividades com palestras, oficinas e programações musicais com repentistas e artistas populares. Xangai, Antônio Nóbrega e Geraldo Amâncio estão entre os músicos confirmados para apresentarem-se no evento.
A poesia popular tem destaque no evento, que explora as múltiplas dimensões da literatura de cordel. Os estudantes do ensino fundamental e médio das escolas de Maracanaú são o público alvo das oficinas e palestras, que todavia também estarão abertas à participação do público geral.
As atividades são gratuitas e abertas ao público.
