A XV Bienal Internacional do Livro do Ceará, que tem como tema “Das fogueiras ao fogo das palavras”, lembra que a literatura não está restrita apenas ao formato do livro. A tradição oral antecede a palavra impressa e traz, até o presente, conhecimentos indispensáveis, como está bem destacado nesta edição da Bienal. Porém, esse é um entendimento que já está presente no DNA do evento há muito tempo. Já faz duas décadas que o evento literário tem em sua programação a Praça do Cordel, dedicada a celebrar a literatura de cordel, que une a tradição oral e o formato impresso numa das maiores representações da cultura nordestina.
A literatura de cordel é um gênero literário tipicamente escrito em versos, muitas vezes originado de relatos orais e depois publicado em folhetos, tratando de temas populares em linguagem poética e informal. O termo “cordel” tem origem em Portugal, e se refere às cordas e barbantes nos quais os livretos frequentemente ficam expostos para venda em feiras ou mercados. Na Praça do Cordel da Bienal, os poetas populares têm seus próprios estandes, onde seu trabalho está apresentado tanto em barbantes quanto nas bancadas, da mesma forma como ficam expostos os livros de grandes escritores na Feira do Livro.
A Praça do Cordel não consiste só de estandes: na verdade, não consiste nem só de cordel. Klévisson Viana, fundador original do eixo e até hoje seu organizador, conta que a Praça espera receber cerca de 200 artistas, entre “cantadores, repentistas, cordelistas, declamadores, xilogravadores, artistas populares, sanfoneiros, violeiros, forrozeiros”, entendendo o cordel como parte de uma verdadeira teia de arte popular, que é contemplada em suas diversas faces no espaço. Um desses artistas populares é o xilogravista Mestre Francorli, nome artístico de Francisco Correia Lima, que teve seu primeiro contato com a xilogravura aos 13 anos e cujo trabalho já o levou a expor suas obras na China, Europa e Tailândia. Atualmente, Francorli possui um ateliê em Juazeiro do Norte e encanta milhares de pessoas nas Bienais do Livro.
Com uma das mais extensas programações de todo o evento, a Praça do Cordel conta com atividades que iniciam às 10h30 ou 11h e se estendem até depois das 20h, todos os dias até domingo, dia 13, dia do encerramento da Bienal. Klévisson destaca alguns momentos importantes, como a palestra sobre Fantasia na Literatura de Cordel do cordelista, compositor e roteirista de cinema Bráulio Tavares (quinta feira, dia 10, às 15h), e as declamações do Mestre Chico Pedrosa, escritor, poeta, cordelista e músico, que possui 90 anos idade e destes mais de 70 dedicado à poesia popular. Ele se apresentará nos palcos da praça nos dois finais de semana da Bienal (dias 5, 6, 12 e 13).
Uma das declamações de Mestre Chico, inclusive, será o penúltimo evento da Praça do Cordel na Bienal, às 18h do domingo, dia 13. A apresentação reunirá, além de Chico Pedrosa, Evaristo Geraldo da Silva, cordelista de 57 anos com centenas de trabalhos publicados, com vários premiados e adotados pelo currículo de escolas por todo o Brasil, e Anthony Feitosa, um jovem poeta popular de Quixadá, de apenas 7 anos, mas “que já dá o seu recado, que declama bem e consegue compor estrofes magníficas”, diz Klévisson Viana. Três gerações de poetas populares unidos num único momento, assegurando que a Praça do Cordel seguirá como parte vital da Bienal do Livro por muito mais décadas.
A Bienal é uma realização do Ministério da Cultura (MinC) e do Governo do Ceará, por meio da Secretaria da Cultura (Secult), em parceria com o Instituto Dragão do Mar (IDM), via Lei Rouanet de Incentivo à Cultura. O evento conta com o patrocínio do Banco do Nordeste, Rede Itaú, Cagece e Cegás.
