Importantes registros da vida, trajetória profissional e da marca criada pela empresária de moda cearense Fátima Castro foram reunidos em publicação com lançamento no dia 02 de abril, no espaço A Goiabeira – Casa de Criativos, na Praia de Iracema, endereço onde funcionou o seu primeiro ateliê há 50 anos e onde hoje está a loja Ethos, da sua filha Beatriz Castro, designer, estilista, multiartista e autora do livro “Fátima Castro, o estilo de uma mulher à frente do seu tempo”.

Organizado e publicado pelo selo editorial As Águas Claras, o livro traz nas 256 páginas um registro atento sobre as criações, imponência da persona grata e imponência de Fátima Castro como empreendedora da marca com seu nome e conceito, através dos tempos, desde antes do boom no mercado de moda cearense até depois de sua exaltação nacional. O projeto editorial conta com incentivo da Secretaria de Cultura de Fortaleza (Secultfor), via lei Paulo Gustavo e Ministério da Cultura (Minc).

Com produção da curadora de arte Jacqueline Medeiros; sob projeto gráfico do artista e designer Fabrício Porto, o livro sobre Fátima Castro tem sobrecapa elaborada pelo artista Mario Sanders, trazendo além de memórias e registros delineados por Beatriz Castro, apresentação da autora pela advogada e pesquisadora cultural Ianne Saboia, agregada aos textos da jornalista Izabel Gurgel e do comunicólogo especializado em moda, Jackson Araujo. A publicação apresenta farto material com imagens de coleções, publicidades e matérias jornalísticas, citações em livros e outras publicações sobre Fátima Castro.

Uma mulher à frente na moda do Ceará

No livro, Beatriz Castro, também conhecida como Bia, retorna às lembranças e influências de sua mãe, Fátima Castro, não apenas como a mulher forte e visionária que marcou a moda cearense e, que viria a contribuir quando Fortaleza se consolidou como um dos principais polos de confecção brasileiro, reconhecido pela tradição artesanal, sobretudo do bordado, e cresceu expressivamente na produção têxtil e moda autoral com a ascensão de ateliês e confecções industriais, conta Jacqueline Medeiros em texto que abre a publicação. Bia Castro reverencia a mãe amorosa e presente, uma mulher tão sociável e divertida, quanto elegante e desbravando pioneirismos no empreender.

Com os olhos ainda da menina que a observava costurar os sonhos, Bia nos conduz à história de coragem por meio dos afetos e revive o traçado pela incansável empresária, que “fez do trabalho o seu motivo e da independência a sua bandeira”. Beatriz escreve em primeira pessoa as evoluções da mãe nas entrelinhas de vida e obra, propriedade que quem dá continuidade à trajetória de Fátima nas próprias extensões profissionais, criativas e humanas. Ianne Saboia revela na orelha do livro, a formação em Ciências Sociais e o notável encontro de Beatriz no design de moda, como expressão criativa e logo como referência no setor, sendo hoje a diretora criativa da Ethos, marca cearense há 32 anos no mercado, além de prestar mentoria a profissionais do setor, ser consultora de produtos têxteis e ter marcos artísticos no bordado, gravura e literatura.

Fátima começou a trabalhar aos 16 anos para ajudar nas despesas de casa, pois vivia com os pais e oito irmãos, sendo a mais velha e única mulher. Antes de se dedicar ao universo da Moda, fez carreira no Conselho Estadual de Educação, tendo apoio da sua mãe Edith para deixar o serviço público e se dedicar integralmente ao sonho de fazer roupas com exímia  elegância atemporal. “A admirei e admiro por isso, sou profundamente grata. Ela se realizava através do seu trabalho. Trabalhando se tornava mais bonita, mais alegre, mais vibrante. O trabalho era o seu motor e o seu motivo”, afirma a filha biógrafa.

A organização do livro iniciou em 2024, para marcar os 50 anos do ateliê FC. “São memórias afetivas, mas que narram o seu percurso profissional, nesse mundo predominantemente masculino, onde poucas mulheres têm voz e independência e que ela, sem teorizar, me mostrou e te mostrará através do seu exemplo como se faz”, convida Beatriz à leitura. Conta que o sucesso do ateliê foi muito rápido, “logo a casa ficou lotada de mulheres que vinham procurar pelas roupas que ela fazia. Ela amava o linho, a seda, as rendas, tafetás e outros tantos materiais nobres e de longa duração, também tudo que era feito à mão.

Logo o linho e os bordados à mão em ponto cruz tornaram-se os elementos favoritos e a marca registrada de Fátima. A simplicidade era a sua busca permanente”, lembra a filha, que mantém em seus aprendizados o que para Fátima era prioritário na confecção de roupas e indumentárias, “a permanência das peças de boa qualidade no tempo; que é privilegiar o estilo, para além da moda”. Fátima investiu em uma pequena confecção junto ao irmão, Francisco de Assis Bezerra de Menezes, próxima ao ateliê, na Praia de Iracema. Beatriz começou a trabalhar com eles depois de se casar e já se tornou sócia aos 21 anos. “Minha mãe orientava os produtos, mas assumi essa parte na fábrica e ela continuava com o ateliê em casa. Depois de dois anos, o meu tio veio dedicar-se em tempo integral ao negócio que começava a dar bons resultados, criamos a marca Fátima Castro em 1985 e fomos crescendo como empresa”, conta ela.

Da casa familiar na Praia de Iracema, a confecção das roupas foi para um galpão no bairro Rodolfo Teófilo, ampliando as vendas da moda feita no Ceará por todo país com representação e showroom também em São Paulo, na Oscar Freire. Em 1986, o ateliê-loja volta à Praia de Iracema, agora no imóvel da Avenida Almirante Barroso 977, reformado em arrojado projeto no estilo neoclássico, pelo arquiteto José Porto, um marco na arquitetura local. A loja era “bem organizada e minimalista com poucas araras de roupas e um recamier de seda azul Klein”, divã que seria uma peça recorrente nas inúmeras sessões de fotos por cinco anos em que o então iniciante colaborador Jackson Araujo registraria as coleções lançadas pela marca Fátima Castro.

“Foi Dona Fátima que imprimiu o acabamento e o preciosismo necessários para conferir ao tal artesanato sinônimo de luxo: um luxo simples, muito tempo antes da expressão virar nome de tendência de comportamento. Assim sendo, com seu artesanato de luxo, ainda no final dos anos 1980, Dona Fátima fortaleceu o movimento cearense que chamo de alfaiataria tropical, adequando a maestria das modelagens ao clima praiano, num tempo em que Fortaleza era considerada a maior capital de moda fora do sudeste brasileiro, líder da moda pronta para vestir vendida no atacado em disputadas feiras e festivais”, afirma Jackson em seu depoimento no livro com lembranças do início como fotógrafo de moda e especialista no segmento, empolgado por poder beber da fonte inesgotável de saberes, compartilhada pela generosa sanha realizadora de Fátima.

 A modelagem, como toda atenção e primazia nos processos de confecção, estilo e moda da marca Fátima Castro, se fazia presente e seriam precisão constante nas coleções femininas e masculinas ao longo dos anos de criações da grife. Seja no rigor precioso da alfaiataria e bordados, na capacitação da equipe de modelistas quanto no processo tecnológico evolutivo na industrialização da marca, a mesmo norma maior de cuidados e minúcias na confecção do produto final se manteve nessa “direção da durabilidade; não apenas do material em si, mas da contemporaneidade no estilo ao longo do tempo”, referencia Beatriz.

Como alinha o texto escrito por Izabel Gurgel, que ainda universitária foi assessora de comunicação da marca, além da abertura de caminhos para executar com qualidade o que realizou na moda, “outra faceta dessa mulher plural que foi Fátima está nos apoios às iniciativas de artistas visuais e jovens criativos em vários segmentos, como a participação da marca no catálogo de jovens talentos em exposição no Sesc São Paulo.
