O norte-americano Bob Dylan, um dos maiores compositores de todos os tempos e o primeiro a ser laureado com o Prêmio Nobel de Literatura, e o canadense Leonard Cohen, cantor, compositor, poeta, escritor, ganham homenagens especiais na XV Bienal Internacional do Livro do Ceará. Os shows têm entrada franca e acontecem no Centro de Eventos do Ceará, no espaço Café Literário, integrando a programação oficial do evento e destacando o diálogo entre música e literatura.

No sábado, 5 de abril, às 18h30, os cantores e compositores Felipe Cazaux, Dalwton Moura e Ni Groover, atuantes na cena musical cearense, apresentam o show “My Back Pages – Homenagem a Bob Dylan”, com grandes sucessos e lados B de Mr. Robert Zimmerman, em formato enxuto, vozes, violões e guitarra.

No domingo, 13 de abril, dia de encerramento da Bienal, às 17h, o cantor e compositor cearense Oscar Arruda recebe como convidados Ayrton Bob Pessoa e as cantoras e compositoras Clau Aniz e Ayla Lemos, para apresentar o espetáculo ‘Bird on The Wire – Canções de Leonard Cohen”, celebrando o autor de clássicos como “Hallelujah”, “I´m your man”, “Suzanne”, “Dance me to the end of love”.

Os shows acontecem com formações enxutas, pelas características do espaço Café Literário, da Bienal, em apresentações mais intimistas, dialogando com as demais atividades e com os vários fluxos de participantes do grande evento.

O show idealizado para homenagear Bob Dylan contará com um repertório bem diversificado, abrangendo várias fases do cantor e compositor cuja voz poética foi reconhecida pela Academia Sueca, em uma decisão marcante que conferiu pela primeira vez um Nobel de Literatura a um compositor, dando um novo status à canção popular como gênero literário e reforçando que não cabem fronteiras para a arte, a poesia, a literatura, independentemente de suportes, veículos e classificações.

Desde o Dylan folk, do início dos anos 60, fortemente influenciado pelo “papa” Woddy Guthrie, com clássicos como “Mr. Tambourine Man”, “Blowin´in the wind”, “The times, they are a-changing” e “Love minus zero/No limit”, até o Dylan elétrico, influenciado pelos Beatles e vaiado pelos tradicionalistas ao trocar o violão de aço pela guitarra, as apresentações solitárias por uma banda de rock, consagrando a eterna “Like a rolling stone”, que já foi eleita a melhor canção de todos os tempos. Passando pela proximidade com o ex-beatle George Harrison, que gravou as dylanescas “If not for you” e “I don´t wanna do it”, além de escrever em parceria “I´d have you anytime”, e pelo fim dos anos 60, com clássicos como “Lay lady lay”.

“Entre surpresas para o público, o show inclui ainda algumas versões em português de músicas de Dylan, enfatizando sua influência também sobre a música brasileira – inclusive por compositores cearenses, como Fagner e Fausto Nilo, que gravaram versão de “Romance in Durango”, e Belchior, apontado como um seguidor do poeta norte-americano, pelas letras longas e pela citação direta ao trovador, na música “Lira dos Vinte Anos”, em que, refletindo sobre os sonhos dos anos 60 e a realidade que depois se impôs, cantou: “Os filhos de Bob Dylan, clientes da Coca-cola, os que fugimos da escola voltamos todos pra casa”.

Já Oscar Arruda, cantor, compositor, violonista, guitarrista, apresenta no domingo, 13/4, às 17h, uma versão enxuta de seu show “Bird on the Wire – Canções de Leonard Cohen, celebrando o grande escritor de canções, que se despediu em 2016 deixando um vasto legado musical, aplaudido pela crítica e ainda a ser melhor conhecido pelo público.

O público da Bienal terá a oportunidade de apreciar, com Oscar, Ayrton Bob Pessoa, Clau Aniz e Ayla Lemos, a recriação de canções de várias fases da obra de Leonard Cohen: dos anos 60 à década de 80, chegando a composições mais recentes do autor de “Dance me to the end of love”. A atmosfera cool, noir, a um tempo sutil e intensa, simples e complexa, musical e poética, abstrata e metafórica mas também realista e direta nos matizes de Mr. Cohen será reconstruída no palco na Bienal por Oscar e convidadas.

“Como um grande fã da obra do Leonard Cohen há 30 anos, esse show surgiu como a consequência de um antigo desejo”, aponta Oscar Arruda, artista que, além de desenvolver um trabalho autoral, colabora com vários nomes da cena musical cearense.

“Fiquei muito impressionado, desde o começo, com as canções do Leonard Cohen e sempre ouvi muito, durante todos esses anos, principalmente a primeira fase, dos anos 60, dos discos ‘Songs of Leonard Cohen’, ‘Songs from a Room’ e ‘Songs of Love and Hate’”, detalha. “Uma coisa que sempre me marcou muito é a profundidade dele como compositor, a tristeza e a verdade com que ele trabalha. É uma obra extremamente pessoal e marcante”.

O DVD lançado em 2012 com um show de Cohen foi a porta para um novo mergulho de Oscar Arruda na obra do compositor. “Foi uma retomada pra mim. Li a biografia dele, comecei a ouvir músicas de outras fases, dos anos 70, 80, produções mais recentes… Até que se impôs essa ideia de fazer um projeto com as canções dele”, conta Oscar.

O repertório do show vem em grande parte dos três primeiros discos de Leonard Cohen, citados por Oscar. “São seis a oito músicas dessa primeira fase, que é mais caracterizada pela presença muito forte do violão dele, pelos arranjos bem suaves, sem bateria. Digamos que é a fase mais folk dele, das canções mais extensas… Final dos anos 60 até o comecinho dos anos 70”. indica.

“Da segunda fase, dos anos 70, tem uma do ‘New skin for the old ceremony’, de 1974 e talvez mais uma do “Death of a ladies´ man”, cogita, citando o álbum de 1977

“Dos anos 80, uma coisa um pouco mais pop, do ‘Various positions’, de 85. Já com bateria, uma parte do show mais pra cima. Aí tem ‘Dance me to the end of love’, ‘Hallellujah’… Não podem faltar”, antecipa. “É muito difícil escolher, porque a discografia dele é muito extensa. Optamos por incluir canções que as pessoas já tenham ouvido. Mas teremos algumas surpresas também”. Convite feito para esse encontro com a obra de Leonard Cohen e de Bob Dylan, revisitada por grandes músicos do Ceará.

A XV Bienal Internacional do Livro do Ceará é uma iniciativa do Governo do Estado do Ceará, por meio da Secretaria da Cultura (Secult), em parceria com o Instituto Dragão do Mar (IDM) e apoio do Ministério da Cultura, via Lei Rouanet de Incentivo à Cultura. Os patrocinadores desta edição incluem Rede Itaú, Cagece e Cegás. O evento acontecerá, gratuitamente, de 4 a 13 de abril de 2025, no Centro de Eventos do Ceará, em Fortaleza. Com o tema “Das fogueiras ao fogo das palavras: mulheres, resistência e literatura”, a Bienal será um espaço de encontro e diálogo sobre a literatura e suas múltiplas formas de expressão.

Com uma programação diversa e abrangente, a Bienal do Livro deste ano de 2025 promete ser um marco na valorização da literatura e no fortalecimento da leitura como instrumento de conhecimento, inclusão e resistência. Reafirmando seu compromisso com o protagonismo feminino, esta edição contará com uma curadoria inteiramente feminina, composta pelas escritoras Sarah Diva Ipiranga, nina rizzi, Amara Moira e Trudruá Dorrico, sob a coordenação geral de Maura Isidório. Durante o evento haverá encontros e diálogos que vão ampliar vozes e perspectivas no cenário literário.
