Para tanto, leva-se em consideração notas contínuas de Conceitos Preliminares de Curso referentes aos cursos de graduação avaliados no triênio 2019-2021-2022-2023, o número de matrículas nos cursos de graduação (estudantes cursando ou formados no ano de referência do CPC), conforme base de dados oficial do Censo da Educação Superior, os conceitos dos cursos de Mestrado e Doutorado atribuídos pela Capes e número de matrículas (matriculados e titulados em 2022) nos cursos de Mestrado e Doutorado.
O IGC é divulgado anualmente pelo Inep/MEC, imediatamente após a divulgação dos resultados do Enade. As notas podem ser consultadas no e-MEC.
