Documentário ‘Ceará Marginal’ apresenta um recorte de 50 anos da produção gráfica independente cearense

Proibidas, periféricas, alternativas, poéticas, grotescas, denunciativas, libertadoras. No Ceará dos últimos 50 anos, inúmeras publicações movimentaram ideias e vozes consideradas subterrâneas. Devota do “faça você mesmo”, essa produção gráfica independente materializou-se em fanzines, jornais, revistas, livros e sites. Ceará Marginal é um documentário sobre a cena cultural das publicações independentes produzidas em solo cearense. Contemplado no Edital de Apoio ao Audiovisual Cearense, da Secretaria da Cultura do Estado do Ceará (Secult-CE), pela Lei Aldir Blanc, o longa-metragem será exibido pela primeira vez nesta quinta-feira, 10 de novembro, às 19 horas, no Cineteatro São Luiz, equipamento da Secult-CE. Entrada franca.

O filme apresenta um recorte, da década de 1970 aos dias atuais, por meio de depoimentos de artistas que produziram suas próprias publicações, criando uma cena à margem do circuito oficial. São editores, autores e artistas que recorreram à autopublicação em busca de liberdade, que criaram, individualmente ou em grupo, os meios de propagar suas ideias e obras.

Iniciativas diversas como as de jornais libertários ainda no período de reabertura política do Brasil, jornais que lutaram pela afirmação da cultura popular, revistas literárias, boêmias, comportamentais, quadrinhos underground, fanzines sobre a cena do rock, ideais anarquistas e selos editoriais autônomos são exemplos da diversidade de propostas editoriais apresentadas no documentário.

A direção de Ceará Marginal é do cearense Weaver Lima, artista que nos anos 90 integrou o Seres Urbanos – grupo de fanzineiros que é uma referência no circuito underground brasileiro; e nos 2000, criou o coletivo MONSTRA, que atualmente funciona como uma produtora cultural especializada em projetos de arte (exposições, publicações e filmes). A ideia do documentário nasceu da vontade de pesquisar a produção independente do Ceará.


O filme foi realizado em meio à pandemia de Covid-19 durante o ano de 2021. O processo de pesquisa mapeou quase uma centena de iniciativas no universo da produção gráfica independente cearense. Foram selecionados e entrevistados 30 artistas, resultando em mais de 50 horas de gravação.

O documentário em longa-metragem Ceará Marginal é o primeiro produto audiovisual dessa pesquisa. Um registro sobre um circuito cultural que, longe dos holofotes, se ramifica em diversas direções. Um passeio pela produção que acontece à margem. Um filme sobre a paixão de se autopublicar.
