Conheça a trajetória de David Lee. Sua arte possui um estilo marcante, que passeia pelo artesanal e conversa com o minimalismo das cores e formas. Assim é o trabalho do estilista, marcado pelos traços regionais e com o olhar no moderno. David começou sua carreira em 2013, criando coleção de moda masculina. Com talento e perseverança ganhou projeção nacional e internacional. Atualmente é o único cearense em destaque na lista Under 30, da Revista Forbes Brasil.

 

1- Como foi sua trajetória? O gosto pela moda sempre fez parte da sua vida?

Desde os seis anos desenhava, tinha aptidão por essa arte, esse universo ligado a criatividade foi sempre presente, e o desenho fez essa aproximação com design de moda. Cresci vendo minha Vó costurar, esse gosto pela moda foi crescendo naturalmente, mas se exteriorizou na adolescência, precisamente no período do vestibular, em 2009, tentei vaga em uma universidade da capital cearense, sem êxito, porém, expandir o meu interesse de trabalhar na criação e confecção de roupas. Então iniciei os estudos, participava de eventos, lia diversos conteúdos relacionados a moda e também procurava vivenciar o universo da moda. Passei a caminhar como autodidata, fiz um curso de desenho de moda, no Senac, e passei a estudar sozinho também. Eu buscava de tudo para compreender cada vez mais de moda.

Assim me inscrevi em todos os concursos de novos talentos e foi onde eu fui me construindo como estilista, já que não tinha formação acadêmica, via como oportunidade de mostrar o meu trabalho. Esses concursos impulsionaram minhas criações para as passarelas mundo afora, fiquei familiarizado com o projeto de coleção: desenho, tecidos, preços, a costura… Em 2013 participei do primeiro concurso. Entretanto referencio o Dragão Fashion Brasil de 2014, no qual fui convidado por Cláudio Silveira, como um dos momentos de início da carreira mais relevantes, foi um período de muito crescimento. E todos os concursos que podia participar, fazia a inscrição, ganhei alguns locais e outros nacionais, o último foi o concurso Prêmio Novos Talentos GQ+Reserva.

2- Quais foram os principais desafios da sua carreira até o momento?

No início, por conta da minha falta de formação acadêmica, em alguns momentos o mercado negava oportunidades, não abriam o espaço para mim. Porém, estudar e aprender foi sempre algo que busquei, com objetivo de desenvolver um trabalho com qualidade. E todo esse processo foi natural na minha trajetória, e outras portas foram abrindo, outras pessoas viram o meu potencial. Paralelamente fui estudando, e ainda estudo, por isso vejo que o primeiro desafio foi tornar o meu trabalho respeitado, com essa questão de ser autodidata.

Nos últimos anos o maior desafio – para todos os criadores – é gerenciar a marca como empresa, por exemplo, produzir mais sem comprometer a qualidade, mesclar o lado criativo com o lado econômico, e é algo inevitável para quem possui um negócio. E por fim, a nossa localização geográfica, o centro no qual demanda o mercado não é no nordeste, mesmo não morando lá, com o passar do tempo e amadurecendo o trabalho conseguir me inserir.

3- Você realiza uma pesquisa bem importante de matérias-primas para suas produções. Qual o papel da moda no uso consciente? O que é tendência em 2020?

O uso da moda consciente é uma tendência para 2020, e para todos os anos daqui pra frente, o consumidor está mais consciente, por exemplo, você vai preferir adquirir uma peça de imensa durabilidade, o seu investimento não será descartado na estação seguinte, tanto na questão de atemporalidade, quando no quesito matéria-prima. Por isso desde o meu início de pensar e produzir moda, sempre estive atendo a isso, e me mantenho atendo a ter matéria prima de qualidade, um material que comunique o que eu acredito, que é o crochê, uma técnica sustentável, ela mantêm uma herança cultural, e tornou-se uma assinatura pra mim, acredito que o papel da moda no uso consciente é primordial. E isso nasce com as novas marcas e as marcas antigas estão nesse processo de adaptação.

4- O evento de moda mais importante do estado! O que é o Dragão Fashion Brasil (DFB) para o David Lee? 

O DFB é muito especial para mim, ele foi muito importante em minha trajetória. Eu agradeço especialmente ao Cláudio e a Helena, tenho muito carinho pelo dois, eles acreditaram em mim, me deram a chance de desenvolver e apresentar a minha coleção. Foi um processo de aprendizado e crescimento, o DFB é uma parte muito importante da minha estória.


5- Quais são seus planos e suas expectativas para o futuro?

Sou muito otimista, minhas expectativas são sempre as melhores, apesar de 2019 não ter sido um ano tão bom, seja em questões econômicas e outros fatores. Me mantenho otimista, acredito que o otimismo tira a gente do comum e faz a gente seguir em frente, tenho isso comigo, minhas expectativas são sempre as melhores, tenho plano de abrir o showroon aqui em fortaleza esse ano, repaginaremos o site, torná-lo ainda melhor para o público. E estamos desenvolvendo coleção para duas multimarcas, já estou finalizando uma e prospectando outra, e os planos é fechar trabalho com, pelo menos, mais duas nesse primeiro semestre e expandir a marca.
