O projeto social CAVIVER (Centro de Aperfeiçoamento Visual Ver a Esperança Renascer) fará nesta terça-feira (15), das 7 horas às 13 horas, na sede da instituição, um mutirão de atendimento gratuito a 100 crianças de projetos sociais de Fortaleza com o objetivo de detecção da Ambliopia, também conhecida como “olho preguiçoso”, uma condição que afeta o desenvolvimento visual das crianças e pode levar à perda de visão, se não for tratada a tempo. O CAVIVER é a instituição cearense participante da Campanha Ibero-Americana de Prevenção da Ambliopia, que será realizada ao longo do mês de outubro, em 20 países.
As crianças a serem atendidas estão na faixa etária de 3 a 8 anos e são oriundas dos seguintes projetos sociais e organizações da sociedade civil de Fortaleza escolhidas para esse momento: Edisca, Instituto Pensando Bem, Instituto Nabor, e de um projeto social desenvolvido na comunidade do Gengibre. Após o acolhimento por parte da equipe do CAVIVER, as crianças passarão pelo processo de medida de acuidade visual, exame de fundo de olho, avaliação da motilidade ocular e prescrição de óculos, nos casos necessários. Em paralelo, os pais e responsáveis participarão de conversas de conscientização sobre a importância da prevenção à Ambliopia.
Com sede em Fortaleza, o CAVIVER é uma OSC (Organização da Sociedade Civil) que atende a crianças de todo o Ceará e algumas que vêm de Estados vizinhos em busca de tratamento e reabilitação da visão por meio de atendimento clínico ou cirúrgico especializado. Para esta ação da Campanha, a entidade disponibilizará uma equipe formada por 20 profissionais da área de oftalmologia e 20 voluntários para o apoio, fluxo, recepção e acolhimento.
“A detecção precoce e o tratamento adequado da Ambliopia são essenciais para garantir uma boa qualidade de vida das crianças e para a prevenção de problemas visuais futuros. Essa ação é de grande importância, pois se trata de uma condição silenciosa, que na maioria das vezes passa despercebida pelos pais, caso não haja a busca por atenção médica”, explica a médica Islane Verçosa, diretora do CAVIVER.
A Campanha Ibero-Americana de Prevenção da Ambliopia também vem para alertar pais, profissionais da saúde e educadores com o objetivo de conscientizar e, assim, evitar a perda definitiva da capacidade visual das crianças. A organização é uma parceria do CLADE – Conselho Latino-americano de Estrabismo com o CAVIVER. O evento em Fortaleza conta com apoio do Grupo L’Occitane e patrocínio da Essilor, Genom, Fort Ótica, Natureye, Hoya, Qair Brasil e Instituto Qair.
O CAVIVER foi fundado em 2006, com o objetivo de atender crianças e adolescentes entre 0 a 15 anos com graves problemas de visão e em estado de vulnerabilidade social, possibilitando, por meio de atendimento humanizado, a reintegração familiar e social que melhora a relação da criança com o que está ao seu redor. Desde então vem ampliando sua atuação, tendo inaugurado a sua primeira sede em novembro de 2015, o que ampliou a condição de atendimentos e realização de cirurgias. A médica oftalmologista Islane Verçosa está à frente do CAVIVER, contando com uma equipe médica e técnica de 40 profissionais, que atendem uma média de 150 crianças por mês, com a realização média de 18 cirurgias gratuitas por mês.
