A CAIXA Cultural Fortaleza apresenta, nos dias 5, 12 e 19 de novembro, o espetáculo musical Macaúba 80. O show, que será realizado ao ar livre, no pátio externo da CAIXA Cultural, com acesso gratuito, é uma homenagem aos 80 anos de vida do renomado mestre do choro, Macaúba do Bandolim. O encontro contará com a presença de talentos da nova geração que fazem parte da história do instrumentista. Com início às 17h, o evento é livre para todos os públicos e contará com intérprete de Libras.

O show que celebra oito décadas de vida do mestre do bandolim, completados no dia 31 de julho de 2023, terá como cenário a representação de um importante ponto de encontro para músicos e amantes da boa música: o icônico Macaubar. O local fez parte de um período especial da vida do mestre Macaúba quando, na década de 1990, ele começou a receber em sua antiga residência a visita de diversos amigos para rodas musicais. A casa, localizada na Praia de Iparana, em Caucaia (CE), se tornava uma espécie de palco aberto onde todos tinham oportunidade de mostrar seus talentos de forma espontânea e sem ensaio. O Macaubar foi uma verdadeira escola livre e proporcionou o crescimento e o sucesso de jovens músicos, que hoje estão nos principais palcos da capital cearense.

Para o público viver e reviver a energia dessas rodas de choro com a mesma alegria e descontração, o show terá um repertório tradicional do choro e do samba, incluindo composições autorais de Macaúba do Bandolim, como Ferro de Engomar e De Pai Para Filho. Junto ao mestre, renomados músicos do choro e talentos da nova geração entram nessa roda, entre eles seu filho, Marinaldo do Bandolim, e Ronaldo do Cavaco. A ambientação contará com fotos e objetos relacionados ao mestre e ao Macaubar. Com duração de duas horas, o show trará também relatos de antigos frequentadores do bar e amigos de longa data.

Segundo Beliza Guedes, idealizadora do espetáculo, além celebrar a vida do mestre Macaúba e expressar uma justa homenagem àquele que representa a continuidade de quatro gerações de chorões (pai, ele próprio, filhos e netos), o momento também é de celebrar o chorinho como um estilo musical relevante.

“Queremos celebrar e reconhecer o legado do mestre Macaúba do Bandolim, um incansável divulgador desse estilo musical, valorizando sua história, seu papel na formação de novos chorões e na promoção da música brasileira. A ideia é também destacar a importância do Macaubar como espaço cultural único, que impulsionou a nova geração do choro em Fortaleza”, completa.

Com uma trajetória de quase setenta anos de música, Macaúba é considerado o maior bandolinista do Ceará e uma referência para muitos músicos da cena artística cearense. Como reconhecimento por seu legado para a história do choro no estado, em 2018, foi diplomado pelo Governo do Ceará, como Mestre da Cultura com o mérito de Tesouro Vivo, pela sua contribuição para a memória do patrimônio imaterial da cultura cearense. Tal feito fez com que o Ceará fosse o único estado brasileiro que tem entre os Mestres da Cultura um profissional músico de chorinho agraciado com esse título. Merecedor de homenagens, prêmios e reportagens nos principais jornais do país, ganhou o título de sétimo melhor bandolinista do país, segundo a Revista Veja.
