Fundada em 2012, o Instituto Beatriz e Lauro Fiuza (IBLF) iniciou suas atividades atendendo a 50 alunos, no bairro Passaré, e hoje conta com mais de 600 participantes, de diferentes bairros de Fortaleza. A organização oferece aulas de música e karatê para crianças e adolescentes em situação de vulnerabilidade social, além de um programa de desenvolvimento humano.
“Aqui tem sido um lugar de oportunidades para que jovens possam reconhecer seus potenciais, trilharem suas trajetórias e acreditarem que são capazes de realizar qualquer coisa”, diz Grayce Kelly, Analista de Produção e Captação de Recursos.
O IBLF atende crianças a partir dos quatro anos de idade, podendo chegar até os 29 anos, em um dos cursos que são oferecidos. Sempre com o intuito de compartilhar experiências, trocas de conhecimento e empoderamento, o Instituto promove além das aulas de instrumento, canto e karatê alguns intercâmbios, formação de grupos, apresentações musicais, copa de karatê, residências, seminários, oficinas e bate papo com profissionais do mercado de trabalho e também entre estudantes de outras OSCs, a fim de somar e agregar bagagem cultural aos alunos.
Desde que foi fundado, o Instituto já ajudou mais de 30 adolescentes a ingressarem em faculdades e universidades. Esse foi o caso de Alisson Mailson, estudante de contrabaixo e morador do bairro Jardim União – Passaré. Primeiro aluno que teve atitude e ousou em busca de seus sonhos. Iniciou seus estudos no IBLF desde a fundação em 2012 e em pouco tempo se encantou e decidiu que queria seguir a carreira de músico tocando em orquestra.
Em 2017, Alisson iniciou o curso técnico de música específico em contrabaixo na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. Os anos de estudos, dedicação e prática de orquestra vivido no IBLF, lhe motivou a se profissionalizar e ainda neste ano de 2019, estará finalizando o curso técnico, já com outros sonhos em mente para seguir sua trajetória certo de que tudo se torna possível para aqueles que acreditam e buscam viver por um propósito que vai além de um contexto que a sociedade supõe ser inferior.
