O Rotary Internacional Distrito 4490 segue transformando vidas por meio do “Programa Mobilidade Para Todos”. Desde sua criação, há 16 anos, o programa já distribuiu mais de 11.000 cadeiras de rodas em todo o Brasil. Só no Distrito 4490, que abrange os estados do Ceará, Piauí e Maranhão, cerca de 500 cadeiras foram entregues entre 2022 e 2025.
Segundo o governador eleito, Murilo Santa Cruz, o programa atende pessoas cadeirantes em situação de vulnerabilidade social, incluindo crianças, jovens e adultos, além de instituições beneficentes que acolhem esses públicos. Atualmente, há 15 cadeiras de rodas disponíveis em estoque para atender solicitações urgentes. “Uma nova remessa está prevista para setembro de 2025, com a chegada de 488 cadeiras. Desse total, 288 serão destinadas ao Distrito 4490, enquanto as demais serão distribuídas entre os Distritos 4500 e 4391, com 100 unidades para cada”, explica Murilo Santa Cruz.

Próteses
Além das cadeiras de rodas, o Rotary também atua na doação de próteses por meio do “Programa Mãos Solidárias”. Para isso, rotarianos identificam e cadastram no sistema pessoas com ausência de mãos, a partir dos 7 anos de idade, de forma que os cadastrados recebam o benefício.
Com essa iniciativa, o Rotary reafirma seu compromisso com a inclusão e a solidariedade, transformando realidades e promovendo um mundo mais acessível para todos.
Doações
As doações das cadeiras de rodas são feitas mediante triagem e identificação dos próprios rotarianos. A partir da identificação de pessoas em vulnerabilidade social, entidades, hospitais, unidades básicas de saúde, asilos e escolas com atendimento ao público com dificuldade de locomoção, é realizada uma entrevista e medição do beneficiário, para que as cadeiras sejam entregues de acordo com suas necessidades e medidas.
