Em novo projeto, fotógrafo Guilherme Freire lança fotozine que documenta a paisagem da natureza alterada no litoral do Ceará

Guilherme Freire, artista visual e autor do fotolivro “Também ando perdido esses dias”, apresenta seu novo trabalho “Nova Topografia Tropical”, um conjunto de fotografias em preto e branco que documenta a paisagem alterada pelo homem no litoral do Ceará. O primeiro volume da coleção traz 12 imagens de paisagens ao longo da costa de Fortaleza, Aquiraz e Caucaia, reunidas em um fotozine, publicação independente e acessível.

O lançamento da publicação acontece nesta quinta-feira, dia 17 de novembro, às 18h, no Studio Delfina, espaço que atende o mercado da moda e publicidade desde 1995, localizado na Meireles. Realizado pela Garbo, estúdio que reúne artistas e designers, e com apoio Fortaleza Criativa e Beck`s, o evento contará com projeções das imagens do projeto, venda de exemplares, prints e produtos relacionados, além de set da DJ Babita.

O projeto toma inspiração no “new topographics”, termo que se refere a um grupo de fotógrafos que se destacou na década de 1970 ao introduzir uma nova abordagem na fotografia de paisagem. As fotografias – formais, diretas e objetivas -, captaram a tensão entre a paisagem natural norte-americana e as estruturas mundanas construídas pelo homem na expansão capitalista pós-guerra: rodovias, postos de gasolina, casas suburbanas, estacionamentos e parques industriais.

Ao se apropriar do método sistemático dessa tradição estética, o artista elabora um estudo visual das paisagens construídas e abandonadas no litoral do nordeste brasileiro, trazendo esse espaço geográfico marginalizado como parte importante da discussão política, social e ambiental contemporânea.
