O tratamento de tuberculose muitas vezes exige que o paciente fique isolado por um bom período, deixando-o, muitas vezes, ocioso e melancólico. Diante disso, a Casa de Cuidados do Ceará (CCC), unidade de desospitalização da Secretaria da Saúde do Estado (Sesa), criou o “cantinho literário”, espaço que oferece livros, jogos e desenhos para pintura aos pacientes que estão neste perfil.

Um deles é Wellington Sousa, 23, que adquiriu o hábito da pintura durante o tratamento na unidade. “Pintar desenhos me faz relaxar, é uma sensação de alívio, assim como ver as árvores pela janela. Fico pensando na vida e na nova etapa que terei quando receber alta. Também gosto de ler romances. Sou muito bem cuidado aqui, não tenho do que reclamar”, diz.

Paciente desenvolveu o hábito de pintar durante internação na Casa de Cuidados

Já o paciente Francisco Lima, 53, tem o hábito de ler desde a infância. “Gosto de livros infantis, especialmente os que falam sobre animais. Também gosto de ler a Bíblia. Fiquei feliz por essa iniciativa”.

No caso de Airton Santos, 58, o hábito de pintar resgatou as memórias da infância. “Lembrei da época em que meu pai pintava as paredes da nossa casa e eu o ajudava. Mas eu não tinha o hábito de pintar no papel, aprendi aqui na Casa”.

De acordo com a terapeuta ocupacional da CCC, Gardênia Leão, atividades de pintura e leitura estimulam as questões cognitivas do corpo, colaborando para o tratamento do paciente. “É além de um passatempo, pois essas atividades evitam o declínio cognitivo, estimulando corpo e mente e promovendo melhoria do humor, principalmente no caso deles, que ficam isolados por um bom tempo, proporcionando um momento leve e interativo”, explica.

Sarah Gomes, psicóloga do equipamento de saúde, acrescenta que as atividades também beneficiam a saúde mental dos internados. “Elas ajudam a desacelerar o pensamento, pois direcionam a atenção para outro espaço. Além disso, a depender dos desenhos, das pinturas ou até mesmo do conteúdo da leitura, isso também remete à história de vida do paciente, ele se sente conectado com a própria identidade, com os seus valores”.

CCC atende pacientes com tuberculose desde 2024

Desde o ano de 2024, a Casa de Cuidados do Ceará disponibiliza 20 leitos para pessoas que realizam tratamento contra tuberculose no Hospital São José de Doenças Infecciosas (HSJ). A instituição recebe pacientes em alta hospitalar que ainda necessitam de assistência após o período de internação.

O atendimento aos pacientes com tuberculose na Casa de Cuidados é realizado em uma área isolada, com acesso restrito. O serviço conta com uma equipe multiprofissional, que inclui médico infectologista, enfermeiros, fisioterapeutas, assistentes sociais, nutricionistas, psicólogo, terapeuta ocupacional e fonoaudiólogo.
