Traumas ocultos: violência doméstica contra mulheres está associada a sérios problemas psicológicos

Neste mês, a campanha “Agosto Lilás” se torna uma voz poderosa na luta contra a violência doméstica, um problema grave e alarmante que afeta milhões de pessoas em todo o mundo, independentemente de gênero, idade, raça ou classe social. O tema remete à criação da Lei Estadual nº 4.969/2016, que intensifica a divulgação da Lei Maria da Penha e visa aumentar a conscientização sobre a violência contra a mulher e a necessidade de abordar essa questão de forma ampla e inclusiva.

As vítimas de violência doméstica enfrentam situações traumatizantes que deixam marcas profundas em suas vidas. O medo constante, a sensação de impotência e a violação de sua integridade física e emocional têm um impacto significativo na saúde mental das mulheres. Esse tipo de violência pode resultar em uma série de problemas psicológicos, como ansiedade, depressão, transtorno de estresse pós-traumático (TEPT) e até mesmo tentativas de suicídio.

A psicóloga clínica Larissa Barros destaca a importância de reconhecer os sinais de alerta que indicam a ocorrência dessas situações para oferecer apoio às vítimas. “Lesões físicas frequentes e inexplicáveis, isolamento social, conduta controladora e ciumenta por parte do parceiro, e mudanças significativas no comportamento, como ansiedade ou depressão repentinas, são indícios importantes a serem observados. As cicatrizes invisíveis dessas experiências traumáticas podem durar uma vida inteira, afetando a autoestima e a confiança das vítimas. Muitas delas sofrem em silêncio, enfrentando a vergonha e o estigma associados à violência doméstica, o que pode dificultar ainda mais o acesso à ajuda profissional. A terapia se mostra como uma ferramenta vital no processo de recuperação e fortalecimento emocional. Encorajar que está passando por situações de violência a procurar um especialista pode ser um passo importante para quebrar o ciclo prejudicial de agressões”, enfatiza a psicóloga.

Os efeitos na saúde mental das vítimas também têm implicações mais amplas para a sociedade. Aqueles que passam por traumas psicológicos têm maior probabilidade de enfrentar problemas de relacionamento, dificuldades no trabalho e até mesmo desenvolvimento de comportamentos autodestrutivos, como o abuso de álcool e drogas.

Larissa reforça que oferecer apoio às vítimas de forma empática e não julgadora é fundamental para ajudá-las a superar o trauma. “Todos devemos nos unir para criar um ambiente seguro e empático para as vítimas de violência doméstica, proporcionando a elas recursos e suporte necessários para vencerem os danos psicológicos e reconstruírem suas vidas. A conscientização contínua e a educação sobre esse assunto são fundamentais para combater esse grave problema e garantir que todas as mulheres vivam livres de violência e com bem-estar emocional. O Agosto Lilás não apenas busca conscientizar a sociedade sobre a gravidade do problema, mas também incentiva que as vítimas denunciem seus agressores”.

É crucial que a sociedade, juntamente com as instituições governamentais e organizações não governamentais, intensifiquem os esforços para prevenir a violência doméstica contra as mulheres. Além disso, é de extrema importância oferecer apoio adequado às vítimas, incluindo serviços de saúde mental acessíveis e programas de intervenção que possam ajudar a romper o ciclo de violência e auxiliar na recuperação psicológica.

Mais do que uma conscientização temporária, a campanha Agosto Lilás deve ser um chamado à ação contínua. É dever social fazer a diferença e contribuir para a construção de um ambiente mais consciente e solidário, onde a violência doméstica seja erradicada.
