O Museu da Cultura Cearense, localizado no Centro Centro Dragão do Mar de Arte e Cultura – equipamento da Rede Pública de Espaços e Equipamentos Culturais do Ceará (Rece), vinculado à Secult Ceará e gerido em parceria do Instituto Dragão do Mar –, reabre neste sábado, dia 29 de novembro, com a exposição “QUILOMBOLAS: Tecendo Territórios de Liberdade”. A partir das 16h, o público é convidado a vivenciar uma programação, totalmente gratuita, que reúne ancestralidade e afeto para dialogar sobre os quilombos no Ceará. Entre as atividades oferecidas, estão rodas de conversa com lideranças quilombolas, apresentações artísticas, discotecagem e visita guiada.
Com curadoria de Cícera Barbosa e Joseli Cordeiro, a mostra reúne mais de 150 itens em um acervo diverso, composto por fotografias, sons e objetos que voltam o olhar para o quilombo como um espaço pulsante e coletivo, formado por tecnologias de cuidado, saberes ancestrais e modos próprios de organização da vida. A exposição nasce para se contrapor à ideia do quilombo apenas como um território de refúgio do passado, apresentando-o como um projeto de mundo vivo, em constante construção e defesa, formado por 137 agrupamentos espalhados por todas as regiões do Ceará.

Inaugurado em 1999, o Museu da Cultura Cearense é um museu etnográfico que busca promover a difusão, a fruição e a apropriação do Patrimônio Cultural do Estado do Ceará. O MCC tem a missão de salvaguardar a cultura cearense de forma contextual e reflexiva, trazendo ao debate seus conflitos e afetos através das diferentes formas de ser, estar no mundo e se relacionar com o meio ambiente e com outros sujeitos sociais. Em 2025, o espaço passou por pouco mais de dois meses de manutenção para garantir maior conforto e segurança ao público, além de reforço das equipes e do acervo, um dos mais ricos sobre a cultura do estado.
A reabertura do MCC no dia 29 de novembro, com a exposição “QUILOMBOLAS: Tecendo Territórios de Liberdade”, marca o início de uma nova fase para o museu. Nas palavras de Camila Rodrigues, superintendente do Dragão do Mar: “Depois desse período de manutenção e fortalecimento interno, voltamos a abrir as portas com uma exposição que nos ensina o que é resistência, comunidade e futuro coletivo. O museu reabre, mas quem ilumina essa reabertura são os territórios quilombolas do Ceará. Este é um momento de celebração e fomento do saber ancestral para construção de um presente consciente de suas raízes de luta, resistência e diversidade”.
